January 15, 1988: Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder of The NFL Today show told a reporter in Washington D.C. that blacks were bred to be great athletes since slavery.

February 21, 1988: Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart  confesses to sexual transgressions on live TV.

August 11, 1988: Osama Bin Laden forms Al-Qaeda.

November 3, 1988: “Geraldo” show erupts into a brawl between white supremacists and Jewish and black activists.  Host Geraldo Rivera broke his nose in the fight.

November 8, 1988: George Bush defeats Michael Dukakis to become the 41st President of the United States.
